SHEET-METAL FORM MOLDS

Sheet metal form molds are the basic tools used to transform metal sheets into desired shapes and sizes. These molds, which have an important place in the manufacturing sector, have a wide range of applications in various industries. Thanks to sheet metal form molds, it is possible to produce different parts in automotive, aviation, white goods, electronics, construction and many other sectors.

Sheet metal form molds are molds in which metal sheets are shaped by cold or hot pressing method. These molds allow metal to be formed into the desired shape and can be used over and over again in the manufacturing process. These molds, which are generally made of durable metals such as steel or aluminum, have high pressure and temperature resistant properties. Sheet-Metal Form Molds are divided into four.

Simple One Piece Molds: These are the simplest form molds and consist of a single piece. They are used in the manufacture of straight or simply curved parts.

Multi-Part Molds: These molds, which are used in the production of more complex parts, are formed by combining more than one part. Such molds are especially preferred in the production of parts with concave or convex surfaces.

Progressive Dies: Progressive dies, which are widely used in mass production, are the type of die in which more than one operation is performed sequentially on the same die. Thus, the part is shaped as if it is moving on a kind of conveyor, and finally a finished part is obtained.

Complex Forming Molds: These are the molds used in the production of complex and detailed parts that require special design. Such molds are generally preferred in the aerospace and automotive industries.

Manufacturing Process of Sheet Metal Form Molds

Design Phase: In the first phase, the design of the part to be produced is done with computer aided design (CAD) software. The dimensions, shape and other details of the part are determined at this stage.

Material Selection: Appropriate material selection is made for the mold. Mostly, steel or aluminum is preferred, with its durability and high temperature tolerance.

Manufacturing and Assembly: After the design is approved, the mold parts are manufactured and assembled. The mold is completed by assembling the relevant parts.

Forming Process: Sheet-metal sheets are placed in the mold and the pressing process is started. The mold ensures that the metal comes into the desired shape by applying high pressure.

Finishing and Quality Control: After the forming process is completed, the parts are subjected to additional processes if necessary and quality control is made. The mold is made ready for the production of new parts.

Sheet metal form molds are important tools that facilitate production processes in the manufacturing industry and enable the production of various metal parts. Thanks to their robust construction and various design options, they are widely used in different industries. Correctly designed and manufactured molds ensure high quality and precision parts and make a great contribution to industrial production processes.
